DELTA COLLEGE The Center
exists as part of the Delta College Police Academy located on the campus
of Delta College. The Center is a resource center for both secondary
and post-secondary educational institutions, business, and governmental
agencies located within the State of Michigan. The Center serves as
a regional and national leader for law enforcement training including,
but not limited to; basic police training, regional in-service police
training, corrections certification/training, private security, information
security technology, and emergency dispatch. MISSION: The Regional Center for Criminal Justice in Michigan is a resource center for both secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, business, and governmental agencies located within the State of Michigan. The Center serves as a regional and national leader for law enforcement training including, but not limited to; basic police training, regional in-service police training, corrections certification/training, private security, information security technology, and emergency dispatch. LOCATION:The regional center exists as part of the Delta College Police Academy located on the campus of Delta College. The Delta College main campus is located on a 640-acre campus complex in Bay County The main campus site, at University Center, Michigan, lies almost midway between the three counties' major cities of Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland. Delta College has major centers in each of the three counties: Delta College Planetarium and Learning Center in Bay City; Delta College Midland Center; the Ricker Center and the Saginaw Center in Saginaw. The Delta College Criminal Justice program offers an Associate in Applied Arts Degree/Advanced Certificate/Certificate of Achievement. They are designed to give specialized knowledge of law enforcement combined with a broad general educational background. The program offers theoretical, practical, and technical instruction designed to meet an ever-increasing demand and continuous upgrading of personnel by law enforcement agencies. As a graduate of this program, depending on the option chosen, students will be prepared to seek employment as a police officer, corrections officer, conservation officer, public safety dispatcher, juvenile officer, private security, or prepare for careers in probation/parole/courts, federal government, CSI, detective, pre-law and many other related careers.
