Workshop Description:
This is an introduction to the new course that contains integrated
resources that make logical and common sense to give students a more
realistic perception of what they learn and what they can do with
it. This program will help students gain a better understanding of
the Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security career cluster using
a case study approach. At the same time they will learn more about
how the justice system functions. This course will include a classroom
set of materials. The set contains: 25 student texts (65 pages each)
and a teaching guide on CD. The latter may be reproduced as a hard
copy by each school purchasing a set. The program can be taught as
a one semester introductory course or it can be taught as a full year
with added speakers and visits to local public safety/law related
organizations. The materials can also be incorporated into more advanced
courses as much of it relies on problem-based, case studies.
